Venue Manager – Commercial Hotel, Camperdown A standout opportunity to lead a beautifully renovated country venue and become part of a thriving regional community. The Commercial Hotel in Camperdown is a cornerstone of the town — blending history, community and modern hospitality. With a newly renovated bistro and a strong local following, this is a venue where relationships matter just as much as results. We’re looking for a hands-on Venue Manager who will embrace the spirit of the hotel, connect with the locals and lead from the front. About the Venue
- Renovated bistro seating 120 guests
- 3 function spaces
- 23 gaming machines
- 14 accommodation rooms
- A team of approximately 20 staff This is a true all-rounder role, offering variety across food & beverage, gaming, functions and accommodation. About the Role You’ll be responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the venue, ensuring strong performance while maintaining a welcoming, community-driven atmosphere. Key responsibilities include
- Leading and developing a team of approximately 20 staff
- Driving service standards across all areas of the venue
- Managing rostering, labour costs and day-to-day operations
- Overseeing gaming operations and compliance
- Supporting accommodation operations and online booking systems
- Coordinating functions and events
- Building solid relationships with locals and becoming a visible presence in the community
- Maintaining compliance across liquor and gaming regulations
- Upholding the character, history and reputation of the venue What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in hospitality management
- A hands-on leadership style with strong people skills
- A genuine passion for regional hospitality and community engagement
- Ability to manage a multi-faceted venue
- Understanding of accommodation booking systems
- Solid knowledge of gaming and liquor compliance
- Someone who will embrace the town, support local initiatives and become part of the community Essential / Preferred Qualifications
- RSA
- Victorian Gaming Licence
- RSG Module 1 & 2
- First Steps Liquor Licence Candidates still working towards these certifications are encouraged to apply. What’s on Offer
- Salary package ranging from $90,000 – $105,000
