Cook Thai Cuisine Newtown

Thai La-Ong Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Cook to join our restaurant in Newtown, NSW.

The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking Thai cuisine in a busy commercial kitchen setting while maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation.

Duties include preparing and cooking Thai dishes including curries, stir-fries, soups and salads; conducting daily mise en place and ingredient preparation; preparing sauces, stocks and accompaniments; operating commercial kitchen equipment including wok stations; maintaining food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards; assisting with stock rotation and kitchen organisation; and working effectively during busy lunch and dinner service periods.

Applicants should have:

experience preparing Thai cuisine in a commercial kitchen workplace; experience using commercial kitchen equipment and wok cooking techniques; knowledge of traditional Thai flavours and ingredients; the ability to work effectively within a team workplace.

Familiarity with different regional Thai cuisines or willingness to further develop skills in such areas will be an advantage. This is a full-time position based in Newtown, NSW.

Salary: $77,000 – $80,000 plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.

Pay: $77,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
