Cook Thai Cuisine Newtown

Thai La-Ong Pty Ltd is seeking a full time Cook to join our restaurant in Newtown, NSW.

The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking Thai cuisine in a busy commercial kitchen setting while maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation.

Duties include:

preparing and cooking authentic Thai dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards;

conducting daily mise en place and ingredient preparation;

preparing sauces, stocks and accompaniments;

operating commercial kitchen equipment including wok stations;

maintaining food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards;

assisting with stock rotation and kitchen organisation; and

working effectively during busy lunch and dinner service periods.

Applicants should have:

experience preparing Thai cuisine in a commercial kitchen environment;

experience using commercial kitchen equipment and wok cooking techniques;

sound knowledge of Thai ingredients, herbs, spices and traditional cooking techniques;

the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Experience preparing regional Thai cuisine, including Northern, Central, Southern or Isaan-style dishes, will be highly regarded.

Ability to communicate with Thai-speaking kitchen staff and suppliers will be an advantage.

This is a full time position based in Newtown, NSW.

Salary: $77,000
- $80,000 plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.

Pay: $77,000.00
- $80,000.00 per year
