iPAK Packaging is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician
- Plastics Production to support and maintain industrial PET blow‑moulding and automated beverage packaging systems used in our manufacturing operations.

This is a specialist technical role, requiring hands‑on mechanical expertise, fault diagnosis capability, and experience maintaining automated production machinery in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Mechanical Systems & Production Support**
- Monitor and adjust critical process parameters, including temperature control, air‑pressure systems, cycle timing, mould alignment, and calibration to ensure consistent production output.
- Technically oversee and support industrial PET blow‑moulding machinery used in the manufacture of beverage‑grade PET containers.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults affecting production efficiency and machinery performance.
- Analyse equipment performance data to identify mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.

**Maintenance, Diagnostics & Repairs**
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on blow‑moulding machines, compressors, conveyors, and associated production equipment.
- Disassemble, repair, and refit mechanical assemblies and components, including valves, seals, motors, sensors, drives, and pneumatic controls.
- Carry out system recalibration, alignment, and functional testing following repairs or component replacement.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and fault reports to support production continuity and compliance requirements.

**Automated Packaging Equipment**
- Install, service, and maintain automatic beverage can‑sealing equipment used in commercial packaging operations.
- Diagnose faults relating to pressure systems, sealing heads, mechanical drives, and control mechanisms.
- Conduct routine servicing, including calibration, alignment adjustments, and replacement of worn mechanical components.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to production staff to minimise downtime.

**Skills & Experience**
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Mechanics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in mechanical maintenance within industrial manufacturing, plastics production, or automated processing environments.
- Demonstrated experience with oversight and maintenance of:

- Mechanical and pneumatic systems
- Preventative maintenance programs
- Fault diagnosis and technical troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills in a production environment.

**Remuneration**
- Salary: AUD $85,000 per annum + super
