Position Summary
Maintains an accurate count of all merchandise on the sales floor, steel and receiving. Identifies, investigates, and corrects
inventory discrepancies. Audits the receiving summary report daily.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
Reviews weekly reports of negative inventory counts, items in stock without sales, and item markdowns
Logs daily theft items and items left on the Lost and Stolen log if stock status adjustment has not been done and coded as theft
Researches and audits accrued merchandise payables, receiving documents, shipping documents, items sold by department number, and item discount documentation including Vendor claims
Counts merchandise on the sales floor, including cigarettes, jewellery, major sales department, tires, items in steel, and receiving
Removes layers of merchandise from pallets for accuracy
Keys counts into computer, researches variances, reports year-to-date dollar variance to Warehouse Manager and Home Office
Researches and records all department price adjustments
Research missing Front End and Membership transactions
Reconciles and sends adjustments to the central office for physical counts vs. stock status vs. book inventory
Backs-up all Manual Shipping Documents with a Notice of Receiving or Keying Error form and sends to Home Office
Audits item signs for correct item, description, price, and rebate information
Attends Shrink Committee meetings to discuss concerns and solutions for warehouse loss due to damage, theft, or error
Prepares location for bi-annual warehouse inventory and audits results
Provides prompt and courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
Computer, printer, calculator, phone, radio frequency, RF gun, pallet jack, cash register, hand held/table top scanners, carts, and flatbeds.
Education/Training: High School Certificate or higher
Knowledge/Skills: Previous Management, bookkeeping, accounting or other comparable experience
Google Suite (Docs, Spreadsheet, Slides)
Other Skills and Abilities: Robust customer service, communication, interpersonal and organisation skills
Data entry and data management
Problem solving and critical thinking
Basic math skills
Other specific requirements
