Min 14hrs Weekly - Disability Support Worker (Cooroy)

We’re looking for a disability support worker to join our team! Seeking an experienced, patient, friendly and caring Support Worker to help one of our valued participants with personal care, daily living supports, household duties and community access. Located in Ridgewood (10 minutes from Cooroy), the participant is a 66 year old male with a brain injury, slow on his feet, walker and wheelchair required. A typical shift would include personal care, this can be a timely process and we need the right carer who will remain patient and understanding. The rest of the shift would include basic house duties, company, companionship and basic food prep. Community access would be to attend appointments, the participant tires easily so it’s not intended for a whole shift of community access. Shifts required to be filled are:
- Wednesday 12-4pm
- Friday 12-4pm
- Sunday 9-3pm This role is perfect for someone local who has the right experience, a big heart, and a patient/reliable nature. We need someone who can show initiative, read the client, think on their feet and fill in the time of the shift. No wasting time on their phone. Must be able to keep busy for the shift and think outside the box, this could include a board game or even just some chit chat outside with a cuppa. Due to the nature of the participant and the amount of time spent together, this is a long-term role so we need someone prepared to commit, turn up for every shift and not have a transient nature.
