Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Admissions and Community Engagement, the Event Manager plays a key role in designing and delivering high-quality events that connect and strengthen the Firbank community across our Brighton and Sandringham campuses. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role suited to a creative and highly organised professional who thrives on delivering seamless, engaging experiences, from large-scale community events to internal school functions and virtual engagements. Position Details: Full-time (1.0FTE), ongoing, immediate start Base Salary (excl. of super):$80,000
- $90,000 dependent on skills and experience Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a wide range of school events (e.g. community events, open days, information evenings, performances, and major ceremonies), managing all end-to-end logistics including invitations, RSVPs, catering, venue setup, and post-event evaluation.
- Coordinate in-person and virtual events (via Microsoft Teams/Live Events), including development of event briefs, running sheets, and stakeholder communications.
- Manage the school's event and facilities booking calendar (including major venues), providing scheduling guidance.
- Liaise with internal teams (Maintenance, IT, Catering, Marketing) and external vendors to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the school community, including staff, parents, alumni, sponsors, and external clients.
- Coordinate staffing and volunteers for events and oversee the Hospitality Assistant.
- Manage event budgets, track expenditure, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational requirements.
- Support community programs and facility hire operations.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and coordinate event communications and promotional materials. About You You are a proactive and detail-oriented events professional who combines creativity with strong organisational capability. You enjoy working collaboratively and are confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. You will bring:
- Relevant qualifications in event management, marketing, business or similar
- Proven experience delivering large-scale and complex events
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing budgets and event logistics end-to-end
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and event platforms (e.g. TryBooking, Humanitix, Survey tools) desirable
- Experience delivering virtual events using Microsoft Teams (desirable) You will demonstrate:
- A cooperative approach and ability to build trusted relationships
- Initiative, flexibility and a strong customer service mindset
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
