Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Technician
Key Details
Salary: £39,000 to £43,000 per annum, plus benefits, further training and career opportunities
Hours: 12 hour shifts, rotation of days & nights – 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights
Location: Commutable from Southampton, Havant, Portsmouth, Eastleigh, Winchester, Fareham and surrounding areas

You will benefit from an established, friendly and loyal team of Maintenance Engineers who provide planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns within their fast‑paced production workplace.
Role Overview
Working under the direction of the senior engineer, this multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer will complete allocated mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks and projects, ensuring quality and completion within the agreed timescales. Opportunities are available for training in both disciplines, so whether you are fully mechanical or fully electrical, we encourage application.
Responsibilities
Undertake planned maintenance
React to breakdowns
Deliver equipment upgrades, new installations and infrastructure changes
Perform building maintenance as required
Support and improve skills in the lesser discipline
Qualifications
Background in maintenance or service engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment
Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or hold NVQ or C&G; Level 3 qualifications in mechanical, electrical or multi‑skilled engineering
Solid maintenance and troubleshooting skills across motors, belts, bearings, chains, gears, boilers, pumps, inverters, sensors, relays, contactors, 3‑phase motors, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics or similar
Multi‑skilled in electrical and mechanical or keen to develop skills across both disciplines
Good fault‑finding skills
Friendly and adaptable, able to work well as part of a small team
Proactive, enjoy hands‑on work
