About The Role Are you passionate about supporting people of all faiths with empathy and respect? Join our team at Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre in Northam. Reporting to the Programs & Activities Supervisor, you will work Monday to Friday, 0900 to 1700. In this rewarding role, you’ll coordinate religious services, foster respectful interfaith relationships, and support detainees’ right to practice and celebrate their faith while in detention. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and coordinate religious programs and services for detainees.
- Organise celebrations of culturally significant events and religious holidays.
- Support detainees’ emotional and spiritual wellbeing through inclusive programming.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and ensure reporting is up to date.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support holistic detainee care and development.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, and safety protocols. You enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and have a calm, professional manner in dynamic environments. Key Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in theology, social work, pastoral care, or related fields (mandatory)
- A robust understanding of diverse religious and spiritual practices
- A respectful and inclusive approach to all cultures and faiths
- First Aid / CPR (or willing to obtain)
