Based in Justice and Society at the Magill campus
- 2 x full-time, continuing positions available
- Salary: $100,322 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
**About the Role**
This Teaching Academic position is primarily focussed on the delivery of teaching and associated administrative duties within the Academic Units undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs. It will work with guidance and direction from other academic staff and undertake duties with increasing autonomy as the staff member gains skills and experience. The Lecturer Social Work utilises contemporary professional/discipline-related knowledge in their teaching practice and carries out activities to develop scholarly expertise.

**Core Responsibilities**
- Incorporate contemporary professional/discipline-based knowledge in teaching activities and contribute to the design and development of course materials
- Deliver high quality teaching as part of the teaching team, including participation in moderation of marking
- Undertake course coordination duties, under supervision of the Program Director.
- Use a variety of pedagogical techniques (including face-to-face, online and blended learning) to foster student learning
- Act as a student advisor by responding promptly to queries and directing students to appropriate supports/services
- Contribute independently and as part of a team to support the Academic Unit’s teaching and scholarship outcomes and will carry out activities to develop their scholarly and/or professional activities
**Essential Skills and Experience**
- Post-graduate qualification in relevant discipline, and/or qualified/industry experience in a relevant field
- Skills in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment with a demonstrated ability to undertake teaching duties including the design and preparation of innovative teaching activities and resources
- High level capability in actively engaging and educating student groups
- Competence in using the necessary digital techniques required for effective curriculum delivery
- Demonstrate institutional impact in teaching practice and contribute to teaching and learning knowledge at a university level
- Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work
- An emerging record of contribution to teaching and scholarship
