Civil Labourer (Blackburn)

Parkinson Group is looking for a civil labourer to join our team due to increased work load. This is a casual position with full time hours and the opportunity to remain on as a permanent employee after a 3 month trial period for the right candidate. Parkinson Group predominately completes work such as but not limited to street reconstructions, new carparks, storm water drainage, concrete works & asphalt. We have a tight knit team who take pride in what they do and can have a laugh along the way all whilst delivering projects safely & efficiently and the right candidate will share in these views and buy into the company culture What you'll be doing
- Carrying out general labouring duties on construction sites
- Assisting with the installation and maintenance of drainage pipes, storm water pits, concrete works, excavation, landscaping & small amounts of asphalt when required
- Use of battery operated hand tools
- Operating small power tools and equipment as required such as but not limited to compactor plates, demo saws, road saws, concrete vibe shafts etc
- Operation of skid steers, excavators & rollers – competent people only
- Assisting with material cartage (truck driving) where required
- Reading & interpreting plans
- Use of laser levels and pipe lasers
- Completion of daily toolboxes and machinery pre starts
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment
- Following all site safety procedures and regulations What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a labouring or construction role advantageous however training can be supplied for the right candidate
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- A positive can do attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour tasks
- Commitment to workplace health and safety
- Construction industry White Card or equivalent as minimum
- Other plant tickets highly regarded however should you pass the probationary period Parkinson Group has a strong focus on further upskilling employees
