Description
Wallis Entertainment is now looking for a competent and experienced Head chef who is looking to take on a new challenge assisting our team deliver exceptional food and service in our lounges and in Cinema dining, with additional catered functions and specials to accompany the exciting line up of recent films being released. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for;
- Presenting consistently high-quality meals
- Writing and costing menus for a la carte service and functions
- Supervising, training and directing kitchen team members
- Working with the Venue Manager to deliver a great customer experience
- Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and overseeing hygienic food practices
- Kitchen stock takes and resolving discrepancies To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills or experience;
- Experience in a Head Chef role within a similar venue
- Excellent track record with training and supervising a small team
- Ability to create and follow standard recipes
- Prepare and present a high standard of food at all times
- Ability to work across a 7-day roster The right candidate will need to have a range of experience including food preparation, good at working alone and managing small menu for guests in the Cinema before or after their film, or just to treat themselves to something we offer. You will need to be able to work autonomously, as well as being part of the whole team. This is a casual role with 25-30 hours, rostered over 7days with the exception of any events/functions booked with prior notice. The role will include and not be exhausted to:
- Food preparation
- Reporting to senior management team
- Costings of food
- Upholding food standards
- Maintaining a clean work environment The successful candidate must hold a current food safety certification as a handler and a supervisor or be willing to obtain them as part of the role.
