**Role Description/Criteria**
A Catholic School in the Carmelite tradition, Whitefriars is a centre of faith, life and learning where all seek to live in God’s presence by walking in the way of Jesus Christ. The Deputy Principal
- Learning and Teaching plays a key leadership role in the school community, based on a model of Christian service. As a member of the College’s Leadership Team, this role supports the Principal and contributes to shaping and implementing the school’s vision, which reflects the Catholic and Carmelite traditions of the College.
The Deputy Principal
- Learning and Teaching is a strategic role that is charged with implementing the College’s Strategic Plan and supporting the creation of a culture of lifelong learning. The role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating College goals in line with the College’s Mission and Values Statements.
The Deputy Principal
- Learning and Teaching is responsible for driving a culture of quality learning and operational excellence, aligning with the College’s Catholic ethos, Carmelite Spirituality, and the ‘Learning at Whitefriars Framework’. The role requires a commitment to the College’s vision of being a learning community and an ongoing commitment to professional development.
In addition, this position oversees the development and management of curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and reporting at Whitefriars College. This includes close collaboration with the Learning Leaders and a collegial, supportive relationship with other senior leaders.
An outward-looking perspective is essential for this role, with a strong understanding of contemporary pedagogy, including the integration of learning technologies.
This is a full time, ongoing position with a 5-year contract.
