- Part-Time 0.6 EFT | Fixed-Term contract of employment from July to December 2026.
- TL $90,879
- $128,887 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
- Across multiple campuses – onsite parking with close proximity to public transport. The Learning Skills Centre at Holmesglen provides essential support to learners, focusing on core skills such as learning strategies, reading, writing, numeracy, speaking, and digital literacy. The centre’s teaching staff assist students with study, coursework, and assessment needs, offering co-delivered support in classrooms and one-on-one assistance through appointments and drop-in sessions. For students requiring ongoing support, Individual Learning Plans and structured sessions are developed. Additionally, the centre runs workshops throughout the year, aimed at enhancing skills necessary for academic success and vocational outcomes. The Learning Skills Centre Support Teacher plays a key role in supporting students to develop the language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills required to succeed in their academic and vocational studies. Working collaboratively with teaching staff across a range of programs, the role provides tailored learner support through in-class co-delivery, workshops, drop-in assistance and individual consultations. By embedding core skills into course delivery, the position helps create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that improves student engagement, confidence, participation and educational outcomes. The role is focused on empowering learners with the practical skills and independence needed to achieve success in study, employment and lifelong learning. As a Support Teacher, you will:
- Develop and implement innovative LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Skills) teaching and learning strategies that respond to the diverse needs of learners, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for learners from a wide range of cultural, educational, and ability backgrounds.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to embed LLND skill development within course design and delivery, ensuring skills are contextualised and integrated rather than taught in isolation.
- Design high-quality LLND teaching and support resources across agreed units, courses, and delivery modes. Collaborate with faculty, industry, and community stakeholders to contextualise LLND support to vocational and higher education settings.
- Identify, plan, deliver and evaluate individual and small-group LLND support based on pre-training review outcomes and ongoing course progress, ensuring strategies are responsive to learner needs and promote progression and independence.
- Proactively monitor learner engagement and contribute to strategies that improve retention, participation, and successful course completion. To be successful, you’ll have:
- An approved degree, diploma, or certificate in a relevant vocational area, or approved equivalent qualifications, at least to the level being delivered and assessed; and
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40122 or TAE40116 or TAE40110) or its successor; or
- An approved diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education or vocational education and training; or
- A secondary teaching qualification and one of the following credentials:

- TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set, or
- TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor, or
- TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor.
- Current licences necessary to practice, or registration and/or membership of a relevant industry association where applicable.
- WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
