**The Role**

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Purchasing Officer to join our team. Reporting to management, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for our diverse range of packaging products. This is a vital role that ensures the efficiency of our supply chain and our ability to meet customer demand with the right products at the right time.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Stock Control**: Plan stock supply in accordance with sales forecasts and demand to prevent shortages and manage inventory levels effectively.
- **Supplier Communication**: Create, process, and manage purchase orders with our network of overseas and local suppliers.
- **Quotations & Costing**: Source costs from overseas suppliers and prepare detailed product costings for the sales department.
- **Logistics & Customs**: Liaise with Australian Customs and freight forwarders, preparing and managing all necessary import documentation.
- **Relationship Management**: Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key suppliers, resolving any issues related to orders, quality, or delivery.
- **Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including pricing, delivery dates, and supplier information.

**About You (Skills & Experience)**:

- Previous purchasing experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.
- **High proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, with demonstrated skills in formulas such as VLOOKUP, IF Functions, and What-If Analysis.**:

- Experience in an import, wholesale, or distribution environment is a significant advantage.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive problem-solver with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- **Fluency in a second language will be looked upon favourably.**
