Instrumental Music Teachers (Hughesdale)

**Role Description/Criteria**

Instrumental music teachers are required for the following instruments: **Brass **(2 hours per week
- Year 7 Band Program)

**Clarinet/Saxophone **(3-4 hours per week
- private lessons and Year 7 Band Program)

**Double Bass/Electric Bass **(4-5 hours per week
- private lessons and Year 7 Band Program)

**Drums/Percussion/Drumline **(15 hours per week
- private lessons, ensembles and Year 7 Band Program)

**Piano **(3-4 hours per week
- private lessons)

**Voice **(5-6 hours per week
- private lessons and possible Year 7 Band Program)

Applicants will be required to teach their selected instrument and should be familiar with the AMEB syllabus for that instrument, with the aim of preparing students for exams, including the VCE exams if necessary. Some positions require the ability to teach both small and large groups as part of the Year 7 Band Program.

Students at Sacred Heart are offered a wide range of performance opportunities both within the school and the wider community. The successful applicant will need to work closely with the Director of Music to continue and develop the student repertoire to meet these varying performance demands.

Teaching days can be flexible, except for the Year 7 Band program component, which is held each Thursday. Other days may be arranged in consultation with the successful applicants.
