- $67,846 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
- Across multiple campuses – onsite parking with close proximity to public transport. The Property Services Department is entrusted with delivering comprehensive daily maintenance and cleaning services across all Holmesglen campuses. This includes ensuring that all campus facilities are consistently clean, well-maintained, and conducive to a productive and welcoming environment for both students and staff. The division plays a key role in maintaining the aesthetic and operational integrity of the campus, addressing any maintenance issues promptly, and overseeing routine cleaning schedules to support the health and wellbeing of the campus community. The Maintenance Officer
- Painter is responsible for the preparation, painting, maintenance, and repair of internal and external surfaces, fixtures, and finishes across Institute buildings, furniture, and equipment. This includes the application of a wide range of finishes such as paints, stains, varnishes, and sealers, as well as minor surface repairs, graffiti removal, and wall covering work, ensuring that all surfaces are maintained to a high standard of appearance and durability. The role requires sound knowledge of surface preparation techniques, colour matching using colour theory principles, and the correct use of painting tools and equipment. The Property Services Painter is also responsible for undertaking site inspections, interpreting work requests, planning tasks in line with operational priorities, and completing all assigned duties in accordance with Institute policies and safety procedures. Success in this role requires strong time management, physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of the broader Property Services team. The position contributes to the professional presentation, functionality, and long-term asset maintenance of the Institute’s facilities. This role will work at all the Holmesglen metro campuses. As a Maintenance Officer, you will:
- Work within the Property Services Department to deliver on the property maintenance plan.
- Prepare and treat surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, and removing old coatings to ensure proper adhesion and a high-quality finish.
- Apply a range of finishes, including paint, stains, sealers, varnishes, primers, and protective coatings to internal and external surfaces, timber, and structures, ensuring consistent colour matching and desired appearance.
- Conduct graffiti removal from Council buildings and facilities, using appropriate methods and materials to restore surfaces while minimising damage.
- Plan, prioritise, and complete assigned painting and maintenance tasks in accordance with Holmesglen PD procedures, ensuring timely and accurate execution of work requests To be successful, you’ll have:
- Trade related qualifications or equivalent relevant work experience in a large corporate environment.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions accurately, communicate effectively with team members, and adhere to workplace safety standards, including the proper handling of materials, tools, and safety guidelines.
- Proven skills in surface preparation, paint mixing and application, minor repairs using fillers, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment to ensure high-quality, durable finishes.
- Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
- Valid and current driver’s licence.
- WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
