As we enter an exciting growth phase, we are looking for a driven and commercially savvy Business Development Manager to join our team and help us expand our market share. The Opportunity This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business at the ground floor of its next growth chapter. As our BDM, you will be responsible for driving new revenue, building lasting relationships with builders and developers, and keeping our factory running at full capacity. You will enjoy the variety of this role — splitting your time between field-based client activity, internal scheduling of the estimating team & customer deliveries. This is a true 360-degree commercial role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development
- Identify and pursue new builder accounts and development opportunities
- Grow revenue from existing clients through relationship management and upselling
- Issue competitive quotes and follow up to convert opportunities into won jobs
- Conduct client meetings, site visits, and presentations to builders and developers
- Bring new builders on board and develop strong, long-term partnerships
- Attend industry events, networking functions, and trade shows as required Scheduling & Internal Coordination
• Fill the delivery calendar by securing confirmed jobs from builders and developers
- Work closely with the production team to ensure factory capacity is optimised
- Coordinate job timelines, delivery scheduling, and client communications
- Ensure all jobs meet TrussCo’s pricing, margin, and quality standards Production & General Support
• Provide Constructive feedback from your dealings with customers to the Production team.
- Be a genuine team player — no task is too big or too small
- Assist with operational duties that support the overall business performance Key Performance Indicators You will be measured against clear, achievable monthly and annual KPIs:
- Win 4–5 new jobs per month
- Issue 15–20 quotes per month
- Hold 6–8 builder/client meetings per month
- Bring 1–2 new builders on board each month
- Achieve agreed annual revenue growth targets Remuneration & Benefits We offer a competitive and rewarding package structured to recognise and reward performance:

- Uncapped commission on revenue growth above agreed baseline — the more you grow the business, the more you earn
- Car allowance (pro-rated for field days) plus petrol card for days on the road
- Accommodation and expenses covered for overnight travel
- Pipeline Builder Bonus for each new builder account you bring on board
- Superannuation in accordance with current legislation This is a commission-based role designed for a high performer. Our commission structure rewards consistent growth and protects business profitability, with generous earning potential for the right candidate. About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management
- Background in the construction, building materials, or timber/truss industry (highly regarded)
- Strong ability to build and maintain commercial relationships with builders and developers
- A self-starter mentality — you are motivated by targets and take ownership of your results
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications (desirable)
- Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one
- Valid driver’s licence and comfort with regular travel
