Operations Manager – Fabrication, Installation & Gate Automation Orange, NSW | Full-Time About the Business We are a growing, hands-on business specialising in the fabrication and installation of automatic gates across residential and commercial projects. With a small, skilled team, we manage projects from design through to install. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for someone to take ownership of our day-to-day operations and help bring structure, efficiency, and consistency to how jobs are delivered. About the Role This is a hands-on Operations Manager role responsible for ensuring jobs run smoothly from post-sale through to installation. You’ll take ownership of scheduling, coordination, communication, and job readiness—making sure everything is lined up so the team can deliver quality work without delays or rework. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organising moving parts, solving problems, and keeping people accountable. Key Responsibilities Scheduling & Workflow
- Manage the full job schedule across fabrication and installation
- Plan work in advance and minimise last-minute changes
- Adjust schedules proactively to manage delays Job Coordination
- Ensure all materials, parts, and job information are ready before work begins
- Coordinate suppliers and internal preparation
- Prevent jobs starting incomplete Team Coordination
- Allocate work across the workshop and installation team
- Provide day-to-day direction and support
- Assist with troubleshooting when issues arise Client Communication
- Manage communication from post-sale through to installation
- Confirm schedules, expectations, and site requirements
- Provide updates and manage issues professionally Quality Assurance
- Conduct checks before jobs leave the workshop
- Ensure installs meet quality standards and reduce callbacks Systems & Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies and improve workflows
- Help implement simple systems to improve job tracking and coordination About You You’ll be someone who is practical, organised, and confident taking ownership in a small team environment. To be successful, you will have:
- Experience in construction, fabrication, electrical, or a similar trade-based industry
- Experience in a coordination, supervisory, or operations role
- Strong scheduling and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple jobs at once without losing detail
- Explicit and direct communication skills
- Confidence to make decisions and solve problems independently You’ll also be:
