Description
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with PCB design experience to join our engineering team. You will contribute to the design, development, testing, and documentation of electronic hardware used in current and future systems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams from concept through to production. What You’ll Be Doing
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams across electrical, mechanical, software, systems, and production disciplines
- Designing electronic circuits and PCB assemblies for new and existing products
- Developing schematics, PCB layouts, bills of materials, design documentation, and supporting engineering artefacts
- Working within a team to bring new and updated designs into current and future systems
- Supporting the full design cycle, including requirements review, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, testing, verification, and production release
- Designing and reviewing PCB layouts with consideration for power distribution, signal integrity, thermal performance, manufacturability, reliability, and compliance requirements
- Using electrical test equipment to validate designs, diagnose issues, and support design improvements
- Contributing to R&D; activities exploring new technologies, components, design methods, and system architectures
- Staying current with developments in electrical technology, PCB design practices, components, and manufacturing methods
- Preparing technical documentation, including design reports, test procedures, verification records, and performance analyses What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience designing electronic circuits and PCB assemblies
- Ability to work across the full design cycle, from schematic capture through to prototype testing and production support
- Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, or similar
- Understanding of power PCB design, including power distribution, grounding, current capacity, thermal considerations, and component selection
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, signal generators, spectrum analysers, and power supplies
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to interpret requirements, develop practical engineering solutions, and document design decisions clearly
- Reliable team player with strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
- Australian citizenship required for this position Desirable but Not Essential
- Experience with embedded systems or microcontroller based hardware
- Understanding of software and firmware interfaces with hardware
- Familiarity with digital and analogue circuit design
- Experience with high speed, mixed signal, or EMC conscious PCB design
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and collaborative engineering workflows
- Experience preparing designs for manufacture, assembly, and test
