The position Due to growth, we seek a Carpenter on a full-time basis. The location is based in Balcatta, WA. The role is to provide carpentry services for formwork, flooring, framing, staircases and decks. The duties include construct and erect formwork, lay sub-flooring and floorboards, forming door and window frames, forming and erect staircasing, forming and erect decks, and repairs and refurbishing floors, decks and staircases. About you You will need to have a Certificate III in Carpentry
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time relevant carpentry and flooring experience
- Competent in understanding timber species and interpreting blueprints / plans
- Able to independently assess the suitability of sites prior to the job
- Able to produce high quality work and finishes
- Able to independently run the job
- Competent in applying work, health and safety practices
- Abilities in precision cutting, assembling, nailing, joining, forming, floor sanding and coating
- Understanding of the construction industry and the building code of Australia
- Be physically fit and able to grip, crawl, climb, kneel, squat, bend and reach overhead
- Able to lift objects weighing up to 40kgs (regularly move objects weighing 20 to 30kgs)
- Have valuable eyesight, and able to climb and work on ladders; Competent with hand and power tools, and able to use braze and solder equipment as needed; and Be self-motivated, organised, reliable, have a great work ethic, be a team player and be able to work autonomously.
