As an Indigenous Mentor Liaison Officer, you’ll be the heart of our Indigenous employee support initiatives. This role enables you to walk alongside Indigenous team members, offering cultural guidance, emotional support, and career development. Responsibilities
- Facilitate regular “yarns” and mentor visits with Indigenous employees on site.
- Support individual career plans and connect team members to external services.
- Promote Sodexo’s Reconciliation Action Plan and engage with Traditional Owners and Elders.
- Provide cultural awareness training to non‑Indigenous staff.
- Work closely with the National Indigenous Affairs Manager, HR, Learning & Development, to empower and provide mentees with the tools and resources they need to succeed.
- Work closely with Traditional Owners to deliver meaningful and authentic engagement to drive employment, training, and community development initiatives. Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Australian Indigenous cultures and communities.
- Experience offering mentoring, career support, or psycho‑social services.
- Ability to build trust, create safe spaces, and maintain professional boundaries.
- Experience and knowledge of meaningful engagement with Traditional Owners.
- Strong communication and cultural training skills.
- Computer literacy and administrative confidence.
- Current Police Clearance. Preferred Qualifications
- Qualifications or study in Human Resources, Business, or Indigenous Cultural Studies.
