Accounts Assistant (Helensvale)

**Description**: THE OPPORTUNITY The Signal Group is one of Australia’s largest staff identification and branded merchandise providers. With a strong reputation for quality and service, we are expanding our team and looking for a detail-oriented Account Assistant to support our financial operations. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth financial processes across the business. Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, including invoicing, reconciliations, and reporting. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, analytical, and eager to grow within a dynamic business. KEY RESPONSABILITIES **Accounts Receivable**: Process customer payments, manage the Accounts Receivable inbox, reconcile bank transactions, follow up on outstanding debts, and collaborate with the Sales team to resolve discrepancies. **Accounts Payable**: Match invoices with purchase orders, ensure accurate and timely processing, and maintain supplier records. **Administration**: Order office supplies, perform general office tasks, and support the accountant with daily finance duties. **Process Improvement & Projects**: Assist with system implementations, process optimisations, customer account documentation, and financial reporting, including month-end journals and audit requirements. **Compliance & Reporting**: Prepare debtor reports, maintain data integrity in Xero, and ensure adherence to financial regulations and best practices. YOUR BACKGROUND Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role (preferred) Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) and Microsoft Excel Excellent organisational and time-management skills Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and take initiative **PERKS**: Hotel and Dining Discounts.
