Our Tax and Accounting Practice, Accountancy Plus, is experiencing continued growth and is now looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our bookkeeping team in Helensvale. About The Position As Senior Bookkeeper at Accountancy Plus, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial processing and compliance requirements for a portfolio of clients within a boutique accounting firm. The client base includes complex group structures such as companies, trusts, corporate trustees, SMSFs and individual beneficiaries. This role requires a highly organised and detail-focused bookkeeper who can maintain accurate financial records, meet compliance deadlines, liaise professionally with clients, and support accountants with clean and complete financial data. Responsibilities include
- Managing end-to-end bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, including companies, trusts, SMSFs and related entities.
- Completing bank, credit card, loan, general ledger and inter-entity reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Processing payroll and related compliance obligations, including superannuation, PAYG withholding and leave entitlements.
- Preparing BAS and IAS, reconciling GST/PAYG accounts, and resolving discrepancies prior to lodgement.
- Liaising with clients to obtain information, clarify transactions and respond to bookkeeping-related queries.
- Working across MYOB, Xero and integrated applications such as Hubdoc to maintain accurate and complete records.
- Following firm workflows, checklists and quality-control processes, including supporting client onboarding and system setup.
- Assisting with the review or guidance of junior and/or offshore bookkeeping work where required. About You You will be an experienced bookkeeper who takes ownership of your work, enjoys client contact, and is confident managing competing priorities and deadlines. To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Minimum 5 years’ bookkeeping experience, including strong knowledge of GST, BAS/IAS and payroll compliance.
- Experience managing bookkeeping for multiple entities and client portfolios, ideally including companies, trusts, SMSFs and inter-entity transactions.
- Advanced proficiency in Xero, with experience using MYOB and integrated applications such as Hubdoc.
- Strong reconciliation, problem-solving and organisational skills, with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and client service skills, with a proactive and team-oriented approach.
- BAS Agent registration, or working towards registration, would be highly regarded.
