About the Role Education Services International (ESISG) is seeking experienced and culturally aware Trainers & Assessors to deliver foundation skills training to participants in both the Army Indigenous Development Program (AIDP) and Regional Education Development Program (REDP) at our Berrimah site. This position is a casual position with 4-5 days (25-35 hours) of work when programs are in session. You’ll deliver engaging and compliant training to help participants build essential literacy, numeracy, communication, and work-readiness skills, preparing them for careers in the Australian Defence Force or civilian workforce. What You’ll Do
- Deliver accredited training (FSK20119 – Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways or Skill Sets) to program participants.
- Support participants’ personal, cultural, and professional growth.
- Provide tailored feedback and guidance to achieve learning goals.
- Collaborate with ESI staff, Army personnel, and program partners.
- Assess and mark work in line with RTO and compliance standards.
- Model skilled behaviours and foster a safe, inclusive environment. What You’ll Bring Essential:
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
- VET sector training and assessment experience.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements for accredited training.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Ochre Card / Working with Children Clearance.
- No criminal history preventing work with youth or obtaining a Defence/Common Access Card. Desirable:
- Experience in Defence, Indigenous training programs, or structured environments.
- Experience training and assessing foundation skills or FSK units.
- Cultural competency and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
