Company Description Yakka Downs is a locally owned family business operating across three key areas:
- Airbnb and short-stay accommodation management
- Mechanical repairs and servicing
- Education, training and workforce development Our work is community-focused, people-centred and highly relationship driven. No two days are the same, and we’re looking for someone adaptable who enjoys variety and being part of a supportive small business workplace. Role Description This is a contract or casual, hybrid role based in Howard Springs, NT, with opportunities for some work-from-home and flexible arrangements, approximately 21–28 hours per week. It could suit someone looking for school-based hours, after-hours work, or a combination of both. Some occasional evening work will be required. We’re looking for a reliable, organised and personable Executive Assistant to support our growing family-run business in Howard Springs. The role is varied, hands-on and fast paced, supporting day-to-day operations across multiple areas of the business. The EA would provide high-level administrative support to directors by managing schedules, preparing reports, and handling correspondence. Tasks may include:
- Calendar and diary management
- Managing emails and phone calls
- Client and stakeholder relations
- General administration and organisation
- Invoicing and document management
- Excel and database management
- Setting up and improving systems and processes
- Office coordination
- Drafting documents
- Running errands and parts pick-up
- Assisting with Airbnb coordination and logistics
- Cleaning and maintaining shared workspaces
- Assisting in a busy office environment around children We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:
- Personable, friendly and professional
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Experienced in administration or executive support
- Confident using Excel and managing calendars
- A strong communicator
- Comfortable working in a dynamic small business environment
- Good with children and respectful in family-oriented spaces
- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Flexible and willing to pitch in across different areas of the business. Essential Requirements
- WWCC
- National Police Check
- Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
- Experience in Executive Administrative Assistance, Administrative Assistance, and general office management tasks.
- Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organised with excellent time-management and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in office software tools such as Microsoft Office Suite and outlook. Desirable
- Experience with Xero
- Experience setting up systems and improving workflows
- Small business experience
- Qualifications in Business Administration
- Background in education or training. The right person will become an important part of a growing local business with strong community connections.
