Electrical Switchboard Estimator, Drafter or Engineer (Berrimah)

Select Switchboards, part of the Renko Group, is seeking an experienced Electrical Switchboard Drafter / Estimator / Engineer to support our growing switchboard manufacturing operations. This role is suited to someone with a proven history in switchboard drafting and/or estimating within a switchboard manufacturing environment. Visit our website for more information Your Role As an Electrical Switchboard Drafter / Estimator, you will be responsible for both technical documentation and cost preparation for switchboard projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing detailed switchboard drawings, layouts, and schematics for manufacture and installation
- Producing accurate estimates and quotations based on specifications and client requirements
- Interpreting electrical specifications, scope documents, and single line diagrams
- Selecting appropriate switchgear, protection devices, enclosures, and components
- Preparing bills of materials (BOMs) and supporting documentation
- Liaising with project managers, engineers, workshop staff, and suppliers
- Supporting design revisions, variations, and value engineering
- Ensuring all drawings and estimates comply with relevant Australian Standards Essential Skills & Experience The following are mandatory for this role:
- Proven experience in a switchboard drafting and/or estimating role within a switchboard manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience with LV electrical switchboards
- Robust understanding of Australian Standards relevant to switchboard manufacture (e.g. AS/NZS 61439)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, and specifications
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Must be located in Australia with full working rights Desirable Skills
- Experience with AutoCAD electrical drafting software
- Experience using estimating, job costing, or ERP systems
- Electrical trade or technical background
- Understanding of manufacturing workflows and workshop constraints
- Experience working closely with electrical contractors or project delivery teams Location & Working Arrangements
