Location Parkes, New South Wales Description Play a key role in supporting the delivery of essential community services. Ensure administrative processes, regulatory functions and customer interactions are managed efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines. About the Opportunity This is a fixed‑term 12‑month contract position with the possibility of extension. As a Project Support Officer you will provide essential administrative, financial processing and record‑keeping support to help ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in line with organisational procedures. About You
- Certificate III (or higher) in Business Administration, or equivalent skills and experience.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare a range of correspondence and engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring work is completed to a consistently high standard.
- SafeWork NSW Construction Induction (White Card).
- Current and maintained NSW Driver’s Licence. Desirable qualifications include:
- Minimum two (2) years of work experience in an administrative or project role.
- Experience in financial or procurement systems.
- Knowledge of the role, functions and responsibilities of Local Government. Benefits The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Parkes Shire Council's policies and conditions of employment. The role has been evaluated as being within Grade 8 of Council's salary structure with a commencing salary of $64,662.67 per annum. The commencing salary will be determined upon the qualifications, skills and experience of the successful candidate and also includes super and salary packaging options to increase your take‑home pay. - 35‑hour working week and a fortnightly rostered day off (RDO).
- Four weeks annual leave per year.
