About the role In this role, we will provide the skills and training you need to become a future leader in the agriculture industry. The successful candidate will commence on 1 February 2027. A typical day may look like
- On the job training to hone your technical skills with the support of other agronomists in the region
- Provide agronomic and technical support to clients and producers in the region together with product sales both in store and on farm
- Development of solid and long‑term client relationships
- Share technical and market information to enable clients to improve the performance and sustainability of their farming enterprises
- Maintain relationships with existing customers whilst targeting new clients through the provision of superior sales and agronomic input
- Run and coordinate field days and farmer meetings You will gain exposure to an agriculture area primarily focused on mixed enterprise and dryland cropping. Crops include wheat, barley, oats, canola, winter pulses, various pastures, and grain sorghum. You will join a team of 7 branch staff and work closely with 3 other agronomists across Parkes and Forbes to leverage client base and product knowledge. About You
- Recent graduate in Agri‑Science or a similar field
- Sound customer service, organisational, administrative and computing skills, complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Some technical field experience is ideal
- Passion for local farming communities and agribusiness, with demonstrated customer‑service skills
- Tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field and a current driver’s licence
