The Role As a 2nd or 3rd Year Heavy Commercial Truck Mechanic Apprentice, you will play an important role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy vehicles. Under the guidance of qualified mechanics, you will gain valuable practical experience in:
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting faults using traditional methods and advanced diagnostic equipment on engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Performing routine maintenance and servicing including inspections, oil changes, lubrication, and general servicing to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and operating efficiently.
• Repairing and replacing components including engine assemblies, transmissions, differentials, and other heavy vehicle components.
• Brake and clutch repairs including servicing and repairing air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Electrical system repairs and fault-finding on modern heavy vehicle electrical systems.
• Adhering to workplace health and safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Maintaining accurate service and repair records. What We’re Looking For
• Currently enrolled as a 2nd or 3rd year apprentice in a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and genuine passion for heavy vehicles.
• Eagerness to learn with a proactive attitude toward work.
• Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to producing quality work.
• Basic understanding of workshop safety procedures.
• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence (HR or MC licence highly regarded but not essential). What We Offer
