- $100,000 Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position THE TRUSTEE FOR IRONARC GROUP As a Welder (First Class) at Ironarc Group Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal and structural steel components in accordance with project specifications and requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise, precision, and the ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication environment supporting civil and commercial construction projects. Key Responsibilities: Analyse technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to identify the job requirements and determine appropriate work methods. Prepare and clean metal materials before fabrication and welding processes commence. Cut and shape metal sections using flame cutting equipment, hand tools, and metal cutting machinery according to marked measurements. Form and bend metal components and pipes using both manual and machine-operated tools, including heating and hammering techniques where required. Position and align components accurately with the use of measuring instruments and hand tools prior to joining. Assemble and join metal sections through a range of welding methods as well as bolting and riveting techniques. Inspect completed welds to ensure proper penetration, bead consistency, accuracy, and compliance with specifications. Finish fabricated products by polishing, filing, cleaning, and treating metal surfaces using appropriate solutions and finishing methods. Smooth and refine welded surfaces using grinding, chiselling, and filing tools to achieve a high-quality finish. Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum of two years of full-time experience as a Welder (First Class) or in a similar role and doing similar duties mentioned above. Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or similar equivalent qualification. Solid ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications. Proficiency in various welding techniques and fabrication tools. High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
