Mechanical Design Engineer (Parramatta)

Client & Design Engineer: Excellent prospect for a Mechanical Design Engineerto join a growing engineering manufacturer involved in mechanical systems, industrial equipment, and fabricated assemblies. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys complex design work. You’ll be producing practical, buildable designs across mechanical layouts, skid structures, pipework, access platforms, support frames, and workshop-built assemblies. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead your design projects from initial concept through to completion.
- Design and detail mechanical, structural, and fabricated equipment, including steel frames, skid structures, tanks, piping, platforms, walkways, guards, brackets, and support structures.
- Work across mechanical layouts, pipework arrangements, equipment supports, access systems, and fabricated assemblies.
- Skeletal modeling to facilitate design criteria to create components for relevant criteria (design dimensions, constraints, parameters).
- Produce GA drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs, MTOs, weld details, and workshop-ready drawing packs.
- Support piping layouts, isometrics, equipment layouts, and technical documentation where required.
- Support design-for-manufacture, making sure equipment can be fabricated, lifted, transported, and installed efficiently.
- Respond to workshop feedback, design changes, RFIs, and practical fabrication issues during the build.
- Ensure designs are accurate, compliant, and aligned with relevant Australian Standards. About You & what's on offer:
- 10 years of relevant experience as a Design Engineer.
- $110 to $130k + Super.
- Strong pipeline of engineering and fabrication projects.
- Hands-on design role with real workshop exposure.
- Work across mechanical, structural, and fabricated systems.
