A respected Australian luxury skincare business is seeking a commercially strong Operations Manager / future Managing Director to lead business operations, sales performance, team development and overall commercial outcomes across two brands. This is a hands-on, office-based leadership role combining operational oversight, people management, budgeting, sales leadership and marketing execution. Following an initial training and transition period, the role will progress into a Managing Director appointment, responsible for business performance and strategic direction. You will oversee end-to-end business operations across sales, marketing, inventory and administration, ensuring strong execution, accountability and commercial performance across all functions. This includes budgeting, forecasting and financial oversight in collaboration with finance and accounting partners, as well as analysis of sales performance, margins, expenditure and profitability to drive improved outcomes. Your varied responsibilities will include; Operations, Budgeting & Inventory Management
- Oversee daily business operations across sales, marketing, inventory and administration
- Collaborating with finance partners on budgeting, forecasting and financial performance
- Analyse sales performance, margins, spend and profitability for optimal outcomes
- Inventory planning incl: forecasting, stock levels, stocktakes, supplier ordering and availability
- Ensure smooth execution of campaigns, launches and ongoing trading activity Sales Leadership & Commercial Performance
- Lead sales performance tracking across daily, weekly and monthly reporting cycles
- Set targets, monitor KPIs and provide coaching and tools to improve performance
- Develop and execute sales strategies aligned to business growth objectives
- Drive commercial outcomes across revenue, margin and customer performance Marketing & Business Growth
- Oversee annual marketing planning across campaigns, launches, promotions and brand
- Support execution of digital, eCommerce, B2B and PR initiatives
- Liaise with marketing agencies, suppliers and brand partners
- Track market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
- Maintain strong relationships with external partners and suppliers
- Support website, online store and customer engagement initiatives People Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor and develop a small team across sales, operations and marketing
- Set KPIs, manage performance reviews and support recruitment, onboarding and training
- Maintain commission structures and support workforce planning
- Build a high-performance, accountable and team-oriented team culture Ideally, you will have;
- Senior experience in operations, general management or commercial leadership in a SME
- Strong capability in marketing, sales performance, inventory & operational delivery
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and business performance management
- Proven experience managing and developing small teams
- Experience in beauty, skincare, cosmetics or related industry exp (highly regarded)
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to balance strategy and hands-on execution
- Confident managing stakeholders, suppliers and external partners
