Design Consultant/Architectural BDM (City of Parramatta Council)

Purpose The Design Consultant/BDM is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and progressing early‑stage project opportunities within the construction and architectural sectors. The role focuses on engaging developers, architects, and key stakeholders to secure product specifications and increase brand presence. By managing project intelligence and maintaining accurate CRM records, this role ensures a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities is handed over to the Estimating and Sales teams. Key Responsibilities
- Lead Identification & Research: Monitor platforms such as BCI and EstimateOne to identify new project opportunities aligned with company objectives.
- Lead Qualification: Assess potential leads to determine project viability, stakeholder alignment, and likelihood of specification success.
- CRM Management: Accurately enter and maintain all project opportunities, key stakeholders, and relevant documentation (including drawings) within Salesforce.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively engage with Developers, Architects, and tendering Builders to gather project intelligence and strengthen relationships.
- Specification Growth: Drive increased specification of RAF (Raised Access Floor) products within architectural documentation.
- Architectural Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with architectural firms to enhance brand recognition and long‑term partnership opportunities.
- Presentation & CPD Delivery: Secure and coordinate product presentations and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions with architectural firms.
- Project Tracking: Monitor project timelines, reconfirm tender release dates, and ensure accurate forecasting of pipeline activity.
- Handover to Sales & Estimating: Ensure seamless transition of qualified opportunities to the Estimating and Sales teams, providing comprehensive project documentation and background.
- Pipeline Ownership: Take ownership of early‑stage project tracking to ensure consistent follow‑up and progression through the sales funnel.
- Brand Representation: Act as a professional ambassador of the Tate brand across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Education & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (desirable but not essential). Work Experience and Skills
- Experience in construction, building products, architectural specification, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated experience in lead generation, project tracking, or business development.
- Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) for pipeline management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and project documentation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience engaging with architectural firms and delivering CPD presentations.
- Knowledge of raised access flooring (RAF) systems or commercial fit‑out projects.
- Experience working across multi‑regional markets (Australia and Asia Pacific). Personal Attributes
