Description
Are you a 3D exhibition designer who wants to do more than create stand concepts? We’re looking for a talented 3D Exhibition Design Automation Lead to join our team at Expo Centric. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about exhibition design, 3D visualisation, production workflows and the future of AI-assisted design. This is not a standard 3D Exhibition Designer role. You’ll help Expo Centric build smarter, faster and more scalable design systems by exploring how AI, automation, CAD/Revit workflows and production drawing systems can improve the way we design and deliver exhibition stands. At Expo Centric, we don’t just fill roles — we build teams that create extraordinary experiences. Every position here plays a key part in delivering projects that wow our clients and help us grow. You’ll be part of a company that lives by its core values: Courage, Curiosity, Selflessness, Judgement, and Communication. ???? Discover what we do at Expo Centric: ???? What You’ll Do
- Research, test and compare AI tools that can support exhibition design, 3D concept development, CAD documentation and production drawing workflows.
- Help develop AI-assisted workflows that can convert client briefs into practical exhibition stand concepts, layouts and design options.
- Support the improvement of production documentation, including CAD/Revit drawings, fabrication packs, exploded views, CNC-ready files and clear handover notes.
- Map Expo Centric’s current design-to-production process and identify what can be automated, semi-automated or improved.
- Create prompt libraries, design templates, drawing checklists, QA steps and standard operating procedures.
- Work closely with 3D designers, production designers, project managers, estimators, factory teams and external developers where needed.
- Train design and production team members to use AI-assisted workflows and tools properly.
- Ensure AI-generated design outputs are practical, buildable, accurate, within budget and checked before being used.
- Help build a long-term roadmap for repeatable AI-assisted exhibition design and production drawing systems. ✅ What You Bring
- Experience in 3D exhibition design, exhibition stand design, production design, technical design, architecture, industrial design, computational design or a related field.
- Strong understanding of how exhibition concepts become buildable, documented and installed environments.
- Experience with 3D design, CAD documentation, Revit/BIM workflows, production drawings, fabrication packs or technical drawing systems.
- Practical knowledge of materials, modular systems, custom fabrication, flooring, lighting, graphics and installation logic.
- Interest or experience in AI tools, automation, scripting, parametric design, generative design or workflow improvement.
- Confidence testing tools, documenting findings and making explicit recommendations.
- Solid communication and collaboration skills.
- The ability to work across creative, technical and operational teams.
- A proactive mindset and strong judgement when deciding what design outputs are practical, useful and buildable.
- Curiosity about new technology, balanced with a practical understanding that design still needs to work in the real world. ???? Tools & Experience That Would Be Highly Valued Experience with any of the following would be an advantage:
- Revit
- AutoCAD
- 3ds Max
- SketchUp
- Rhino / Grasshopper
- Blender
- SolidWorks
- Fusion 360
- Vectorworks
- Dynamo
- Python
- AI design tools
- AI agents
- CAD automation
- BIM automation
- Parametric design
- Generative design
- CNC workflows
- Aluvision, BeMatrix, Octanorm or similar modular exhibition systems You do not need to have used every tool listed. We are looking for someone who is curious, technically capable and confident learning new systems. ???? Why Join Expo Centric?
- Help shape the future of exhibition design at a growing company.
- Move beyond traditional 3D design into AI, automation and design systems.
- Work on practical tools that improve real project delivery, not just experimental concepts.
- Collaborate with design, production, project management, estimating, factory and installation teams.
- Build workflows that make the design team faster, sharper and more competitive.
- Access ongoing mentoring from senior leaders and performance-based growth pathways.
- Contribute to a growing business where your expertise shapes real outcomes.
- Be part of a company that values Courage, Curiosity, Selflessness, Judgement and Communication. This Role Will Suit Someone Who
- Enjoys solving design, technical and workflow problems.
- Is excited by AI, but realistic about its limitations.
- Can tell the difference between a useful design tool and a gimmick.
- Understands that exhibition stands need to be buildable, not just visually impressive.
- Wants to influence how a design team works, not just produce individual designs.
- Likes testing, improving, documenting and training others.
- Is comfortable working across creative and technical teams.
- Wants to help build the system that supports the future of exhibition design. Ready to Apply? Submit your CV and a short cover letter outlining how your experience aligns with this role. Please include:
