**Your role**
- Playing a key leadership role within the AHO’s Performance and Finance Division, this position will lead a small team of up to 6 to deliver high-quality budgeting, financial analysis, management reporting, and insurance oversight.
**What you’ll do**
- Reporting to the Director, Performance and Finance the responsibilities of this role will include:
- Providing high-level analysis and advice on financial performance, budget variances, and strategic decision-making
- Monitoring, tracking and reporting on Insurance claims and Income
- Managing the annual budgeting methodology and process, including engagement with NSW Treasury to ensure alignment with their requirements and timetables
- Providing performance reporting and high-level critical analysis on financial results, divisional initiatives and projects. Collaborate with the divisions in developing strategies to manage budget variances and provide advice regarding the commercial viability/impact on net cost of services
- Providing strategic advisory services to AHO Executive on the drivers affecting the financial and budgetary position of the relevant division, branch and cost centres, and support in setting and monitoring savings targets to ensure the AHO’s savings targets are achieved
- Developing strategic plans and budgetary forecasts to ensure total budget performance is achieved in accordance with the AHO results, service plan and appropriate targets
- Developing financial analysis, proposals and reports for the Director and/or Chief Executive on strategic finance and reform issues, including benefits realisation and shared service performance metrics to inform decision making, to forecast financial implication of demands for AHO services, and enable the achievement of strategic outcomes
- Providing financial analysis, tracking, management reporting and budget submissions and forecasting to meet requirements for Treasury, the AHO Board and Executive and reporting against management plans and programs, operational budgets and cash flow management.
- Managing and reporting on financial risk management and governance programs and progress against issue resolution plan
**What we’re looking for**
**Essential Requirements**
- The essential requirements of this role include:
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, economics, business or related disciplines.
- A member of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia & NZ and managerial experience of at least two team members.
- High levels of initiative, self-management, and problem-solving capability.
- Demonstrated experience in insurance, financial management, reporting, budgeting and analysis within a complex organisation
- Ability to manage and motivate a high performing team
- High attention to detail
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
