**About the service**: The Head to Health service model is tailored to the needs of the local community and offers a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress. Allowing low risk individuals to identify alternatives to presenting to the Emergency Department and gaining access support from trained mental health professional within their community, outside a clinical setting.

- Permanent part time position, with some weekend and public holiday work required

**Role overview**: The purpose of this role is to lead, organise and engage priority groups within the community.
- This role will include both operational and service delivery responsibilities, with the overall goal of ensuring all people who identify in the priority groups can gain access to the specific support and services
- Support all cultural governance activities, including working in collaboration with the Community Engagement Coordinator
- Promote the service, communicate regularly and build and maintain collaborative working relationships with program partners and all relevant stakeholders.
- Provide support and run groups for CALD, LGBTIQA+ and First Nations communities when required
- In collaboration with our local First Nations and CALD communities, create a culturally appropriate referral pathway offering safe access into Head to Health for people and their families
- Provide cultural support and training for staff as required
**Requirements**:
- Ideally Tertiary level education in Education, Community Development, or Health related sector
- Experience in a similar role including Health Promotion Officer, Community Development, Mental Health provider and/or service provider
- An understanding and passion for the health and wellbeing of CALD, LGTBIQA+ and/or First Nations communities
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with and engage a variety of different people and stakeholders
- Knowledge of the rationale, principles and evidence for early intervention for mental health
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other services to plan and coordinate individualised psychosocial interventions to meet the needs of people with mental health issues
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
- Advanced computer literacy
- Microsoft Office Suite, other Client Management Systems (CMS) and understanding IT networking and systems.
- Excellent verbal communication and written skills
- Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Working With Children Check
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a C class motor vehicle
