**Role Details**

The Department for Child Protection is seeking a **Social Worker** or **Case Manager** to join the Berri office on a full time ongoing basis.

The role is responsible for:

- Providing effective case management services to respond to the needs of children and their families aligned to appropriate statutory guidelines
- Delivering a range of intervention strategies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes
- Assisting children in out of home care to reconnect with their birth families, strengthen relationships and achieve and maintain reunification
- Undertaking regular visits and supporting parents in developing appropriate parenting skills.

The Department for Child Protection (DCP) plays a key role in the protection of children, young people and their families within South Australia. The department provides support to vulnerable children and young people to be safe, strong and connected.

Berri is a town in the Riverland region of South Australia located on the banks of the Murray River and has a population of just over 4,000 people.

The Berri office currently have 30 people employed and is the only office in the Riverland area. Employees work together closely and maintain strong partnerships with various partner agencies in both the government and non-government sector.

**Special Conditions**

**Essential**: **AHP**: A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. **PO**: Appropriate degree qualification in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or related field.
