This role will also ensure that food is prepared and presented in accordance with the relevant guidelines and legislation to provide a quality service that meets our resident’s needs. We are currently looking for an experienced Cook for our St Catherine's Retirement facility. What You Bring
- Experience in bulk cooking and food preparation.
- Experience in aged care or residential setting (Desirable).
- TAFE Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or Certificate Level III in Food Studies (or working towards) (Desirable not essential).
- Knowledge of nutritional requirements.
- Ability to plan menus to meet standards e.g. Food Act and Occupational Health and Safety.
- Ability to order food to meet requirements of menu cycle and keep within budget.
- Understanding of infection control and safety principles.
- Valuable communication skills and understanding of the needs of elderly people.
- Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment, e.g. stoves, ovens etc.
- Completion of HACCP Food Safety Program (or willingness to obtain).
- Have a clear understanding of and personal commitment to the Mission, Values and Vision of Calvary Retirement Communities (CRC).
