Description Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre, located in The Hills Shire Council area, is looking for an experienced Permanent Part Time Aquatic Programs Assistant to join our team. The complex includes a 10‑lane 50m outdoor Olympic‑sized pool, an additional 25m outdoor pool and two indoor learn‑to‑swim and leisure pools, along with a water play area and a fully equipped fitness centre. What Does This Role Look Like
- Assist in coordinating swim school bookings and customer enquiries for aquatic programs.
- Supervise on the pool deck and ensure smooth delivery of all lessons conducted during the shift.
- Instruct swimming lessons and coach swimming.
- Carry out all legitimate requests for assistance from the Aquatic Programs Officer.
- Assist with direct debit enrolment processing for the swim school. What Are We Seeking
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Austswim Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety Certificate.
- First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) qualifications.
- Working with Children check. Benefits Of Working With Us A salary of $35.39 per hour (excluding superannuation) and weekend penalty rates, paid weekly. Opportunities for training to keep your skills up to date, bonus payments and participation in wellbeing initiatives and benefits available to staff through the EBA and other programmes. Essential Requirements
- First Aid Certificate.
- Current Provide/Perform CPR certification.
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety.
- Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check. Desirable Criteria
- Teacher of Babies and Toddlers / Infant and Preschool Aquatics. Pre‑Employment Checks Recruitment and offers of employment are subject to pre‑employment checks including psychometric testing, reference checks, identity check, medical checks (including drug and alcohol screening), working with children (where applicable) and criminal history.
