Management Accountant (Costing Focus) (City of Penrith)

- Up to $120,000 + super Step into a commercially focused Management Accountant role where you’ll take ownership of costing for a newly acquired manufacturing business. This is a hands‑on position partnering closely with operations, where your insights will directly influence production efficiency, margins, and business performance. You’ll play a key role in building and refining costing processes, while supporting broader financial planning and analysis across multiple sites. Day to day your responsibilities will be, but will not be limited to:
- Building and maintaining BOM's that directly influence production efficiency and product profitability
- Analysing standard costs, actual costs, and variances, translating numbers into actionable insights for operational and management decisions
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency
- Working closely with production teams, helping ensure costing processes are practical and accurate
- Preparing and presenting reports to managers and operational stakeholders, guiding strategic decisions
- Contributing to process improvements, making costing systems smarter, faster, and more effective Ideally you will have:
- Tertiary education in accounting
- Related experience, either as a Management Accountant or Cost Accountant
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and operational finance
- Comfortable using accounting software (Pronto or similar) and MS Office
- Strong communication skills, able to explain costing insights clearly to managers, clients, and operational teams
