- Conduct and lead environmental projects, including field surveys, environmental assessments, monitoring programs, reporting, and compliance requirements across regional and remote Western Australia.
- Undertake or support flora, vegetation, fauna, habitat, rehabilitation, and environmental impact assessments in accordance with relevant legislation, guidelines, and project requirements.
- Lead environmental fieldwork, including site inspections, ecological surveys, baseline data collection, environmental monitoring, and preparation of field records.
- Prepare, review, and contribute to environmental reports, briefing papers, management plans, correspondence, submissions, permit applications, and technical advice.
- Support environmental approvals processes, including liaison with clients, regulators, Traditional Owner groups, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with the development and implementation of environmental management plans, construction environmental management plans, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
- Work with commercial proponents and project teams to ensure environmental values are understood, respected, and managed appropriately.
- Liaise respectfully and effectively with Traditional Owner groups, community representatives, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Provide practical environmental advice to support responsible project planning, field delivery, compliance, and reporting outcomes.
- Support GIS mapping, spatial data management, environmental constraints analysis, and project planning where required. About You Essential skills and experience you must have:
- Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Ecology, Conservation Biology, Natural Resource Management, Botany, Zoology, or a related field.
- Four (4)+ years’ experience within the environmental consulting, approvals, ecology, land management, mining, infrastructure, or related environmental sector.
- Demonstrated experience conducting or coordinating environmental fieldwork.
- Strong written reporting skills, including the ability to prepare clear, accurate and technically sound environmental documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental legislation, approvals pathways, guidelines, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to travel for regional and remote fieldwork.
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to communicate professionally with clients, Traditional Owner groups, regulators, contractors, and other stakeholders. Desirable but not essential qualifications, skills and experience you may have:
- Experience working with Traditional Owner groups and Aboriginal corporations.
- GIS mapping experience.
- Drone experience or Remote Pilot Licence.
- 4WD training.
- First Aid certification.
- Working with Children Check. What We Offer Salary We offer an alternative remuneration structure designed to recognise both office and field contributions. Our remuneration model can include:
- Base Salary as listed based on 8-hour office days.
- Additional field hours paid equivalent to 2 hours per field day, paid above base salary.
- Weekend and Public Holiday hourly rates.
- End-of-year bonus aligned with our internal rewards procedure. This model recognises the additional commitment required for regional and remote fieldwork. Other benefits:
