Geotechnical Tailings Engineer – Perth, WA

Role Overview At Tetra Tech Coffey, we work on complex geotechnical challenges, delivering solutions across mining, tailings, and infrastructure projects. In this role, you’ll be involved in the full project lifecycle, from site investigations to geotechnical analysis and reporting. You’ll work on projects that include tailings storage facilities, mine site geotechnics, earthworks, and slope stability, developing both technical and consulting skills. You’ll also have opportunities to engage directly with clients and stakeholders, gaining experience in project management and technical delivery. This full‑time role provides exposure to both fieldwork and office‑based assessments, working closely with senior geotechnical engineers on projects throughout Western Australia and beyond. You’ll be part of a strong national geotechnical team while working within a supportive and growing Perth office. About You
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
- Minimum 12 months experience with tailings storage facilities
- Understanding of soil and rock logging, in situ testing, and monitoring instruments
- Exposure to mine site geotechnics, earthworks, and slope stabilization
- Willingness to travel to mine sites and remote project locations
