Engineering Safety Manager (Perth)

Network Aviation is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Qantas Group, providing air transport operations. We operate a fleet of jet aircraft. From our base at Perth Airport, we specialised in mining industry support, regional airline services, routine and emergency freight and corporate charter flying.

Reporting to the Head of Safety, the Engineering Safety Manager will be responsible for the oversight of the end-to-end safety management system and support of Network Group’s CASR 42 and 145. You will drive and lead safety strategies and programs across the Engineering functions of the Network Group to deliver against both operational safety and people safety targets. Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting personnel across engineering functions to drive safety cultural change and improvement. This role will be approved by CASA to act as the Alternate Safety Manager for the CASR 145 organisation in the absence of the Safety Manager.

You’ll have
- Minimum 5 years Aviation experience (preferably in Aircraft engineering) with sound knowledge of CASA regulatory standards and framework including meeting the minimum experience to hold CASR 145 Safety Manager approval
- Formal qualificatiosn in Safety management/OHSE/ Assurance (preferable)
- Previous experience or exposure to act as a CASA Postholder
- Sound knowledge of aviation, occupational safety and preferably environmental legislation as well as relevant AUS/NZ and ISO Standards and Codes of Practice
- Solid leadership and communication skills; organisational and time management skills and analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with all levels of management
- Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders
- Ability to manage complex projects and develop / negotiate solutions to difficult problems
