As a Metallurgical/Process Engineering Intern, you contribute directly to live projects across hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, mineral processing, and pilot plant operations. You gain hands‑on experience supporting process optimization, data analysis, and laboratory test work while collaborating with experienced engineers and technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct hydrometallurgical tests (leaching, ion exchange, precipitation) to evaluate and improve extraction performance
Support pyrometallurgical operations (roasting, calcination) to enhance material recovery
Perform comminution and separation techniques including crushing, grinding, gravity, and magnetic separation
Prepare samples for ICP, XRF, and XRD analysis and carry out PSD testing, SG measurement, and mass balance calculations
Operate and troubleshoot pilot plant equipment, contributing to scale‑up trials and process refinement
Follow strict HSE protocols while handling hazardous chemicals like HSO, HCl, NaOH, and cyanide
Collaborate with metallurgists and engineers to identify inefficiencies and recommend technical improvements
Document process flowsheets, test results, and incident reports to support process development and safety
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
Proficient in Word and Excel; familiarity with Ansys or Aspen preferred.
Robust problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Effective team‑working abilities.
