About the Organisation Our client, Life Sciences WA, is a member-based organisation representing the life sciences sector in Western Australia. It brings together representatives from government, universities, research institutions, industry bodies, SMEs and corporates, spanning medicine, health, agriculture, aquaculture, horticulture, marine sciences and more. The organisation’s mission is to champion and grow the WA life sciences sector, promoting it as innovative, collaborative and globally competitive. Life sciences is a key priority for WA’s economic diversification and this organisation sits at the centre of a fast-growing and strategically important industry. This is a small, purpose-driven team where every person makes a real difference. About the Role We are looking for a motivated and experienced Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement Manager to play a central role in how the organisation delivers value to its members and the broader sector. This is a varied and substantive role combining marketing and communications leadership with hands-on member/stakeholder engagement, in addition to event management. You will work closely with the CEO to manage the organisation’s public profile and communications and represent it across industry, government and research audiences. The role is offered on a part-time basis of 20-30 hours per week, but exceptional candidates seeking a full-time role will be considered. It is primarily a work from home position, with attendance at member events and networking functions required from time to time, sometimes requiring the flexibility to work outside of standard business hours on occasion. The role is available for an initial term of 9 months, with the possibility of further extension. Duties and Responsibilities The responsibilities of this role include:
- Marketing and communications. Leading the organisation’s marketing and communications activities, including content strategy, digital presence and profile-raising across the sector.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy and campaigns to promote Life Science WA’s mission and programs.
- Create compelling content for various channels including social media, website, email newsletters.
- Manage social media platforms and online presence.
- Coordinate the production of marketing materials including brochures, flyers, reports, videos, etc.
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
- Member and sponsorship growth and engagement, including fostering relationships and acting as a point of contact for members and other sector participants, including government.
- Event and conference planning and management, including developing an event strategy, coordinating all aspects of event planning and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. About you
- A relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, business, life sciences or a related field.
- Proven experience in event planning, management and execution, preferably within the life sciences or healthcare industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using technology and digital platforms for event management, marketing and communications.
- Strong knowledge of the life sciences industry, WA’s innovation ecosystem and the environment in which it operates, or a keen interest in the sector.
- Demonstrated success in membership growth and engagement initiatives, with some exposure to the life sciences, health or innovation sectors would be highly regarded but is not essential.
- Strong project management abilities with the ability to multitask, prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Experience delivering outcomes in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions.
- Self-directed and well-organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and provide clear direction to others in a team workplace.
