Workshop Controller / Assistant Manager (Perth)

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Controller / Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team at Westralia Car Care in Balcatta. This full-time position is a crucial role within our organisation, providing strategic oversight and operational leadership to our workshop operations and assisting the manager running the store. As the Workshop Controller / Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality automotive services to our valued customers. What you'll be doing Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, including scheduling, parts ordering, job delegation, and assisting the store manager with operations. Manage a team of skilled automotive technicians, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback. Assist with overflow work, minor servicing, and small repairs when necessary. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards. Liaise with customers to understand their needs and ensure all concerns are taken care of. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop productivity and efficiency. Collaborate with the manager to ensure all repairs are completed on time and to the highest standard. What we’re looking for Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the automotive industry. Strong technical knowledge and understanding of automotive repair and maintenance processes. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Proven ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of technicians. Outstanding communication and customer service skills. Proficient in using workshop management software and other relevant technologies.
