The Opportunity In the Vocus Technology and Security (T&S;) team, we own the technical "how" Our mission is to deliver faster and better Digital user experiences at ever increasing scale and quality (security, reliability). To do that we embrace change and new technologies to drive a culture of learning and innovation that fuels our ability to deliver for our customers/users. Underpinned by a discipline of ongoing simplification, delivery discipline and continuous improvement. We believe in the power of people working with technology, that’s why we're investing heavily in our software and data engineering skills, and the constant modernization of our underlying technology/platforms which we use. To guide that investment, we are looking for an ambitious Technology leader to join the T&S; senior leadership team to drive the Technology investment program forward such that we are "good today, better tomorrow, repeat". Such a leader will have
- Hands-on experience in software/IT capability development, optimisation of complex end-to-end systems, working in agile development environments, and scaling up delivery functions internally & through partners to meet ever growing and dynamic demands.
- Technology strategy development, working in partnership with the business to anticipate business demand and work to prepare technology teams and environments to be ready to deliver at pace. Including a keen interest in and awareness of new technological developments that represent opportunities to Vocus.
- Customer & User obsession. With a passion for technology but an ever-greater passion for how technology is used to deliver outcomes, the delivered end user experience (be that an end customer or upstream developer), and an ability to make value judgement decisions on what to focus on to deliver the best return on investment.
- Experience in Telecommunications is preferrable, but not entirely essential, as many of the development and lifecycle challenges will be common to many Software/IT management houses. It’s likely you will have a background in development & delivery, architecture, technology strategy or all the above.
- Most key of all is a leader who brings a growth-oriented mindset, willing to tackle the tough challenges and work with good people to solve them.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day Mission Outcomes
- Lead business analysts, delivery leaders, solution architects, user experience designers and change practitioners to deliver user-centric solutions that meet the needs and expectations of the customers and stakeholders and deliver business outcomes.
- Work with Mission team, in the System of Work, to develop clear and unambiguous documentation for initiatives. This includes the identification of benefits, documentation & prioritisation of features, definition of acceptance criteria to allow the effective build and test of technical delivery both via Scrum and Non-Scrum Delivery Teams. The Mission Lead needs to have a holistic view of the outcomes being delivered and drive the Mission team to deliver all non-technical elements of initiatives including efficiently and effective Go to Market, Business Readiness, Change and Training.
- Support the tracking of benefits by Business Sponsors and Business Capability owners.
- Work with the Delivery Lead to plan and oversee the delivery of the team's initiatives using agile methodologies and practices in accordance with Vocus standard ways of working.
- Manage the performance, quality, and outcomes of the team, including the quality of initiative, feature definition and acceptance criteria using metrics and feedback tools, such as user research, analytics, and testing.
- With the Delivery Leads, manage the budget, resources, and risks of the team, ensuring compliance with the organizational policies and standards.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with the customers, stakeholders, and partners, both internal and external, to understand their needs, expectations, and feedback, and to ensure their involvement and satisfaction throughout the delivery process.
- Working with the Delivery Lead to plan the delivery of multiple, simultaneous initiatives through Scrums and non-scrum teams. Support the Delivery Lead, the Group Scrum Master, and other stakeholders to resolve delivery escalations.

Business Alignment
- Work with key Mission Sponsors to define and communicate the vision, strategy, and direction of the Mission Team, ensuring alignment with the organizational goals and priorities. Participate as a matrix member of the Mission Sponsors SLT.
