Communications Lead Engineer (Perth)

About the Opportunity CommTel is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to support delivery of specialist telecommunications and network infrastructure projects. This multi-disciplinary, operational project requires strong technical leadership, systems integration capability, and the ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders, along with a commitment to safety, quality, and engineering excellence in a high-performance, customer-focused environment. Responsibilities
- Lead the design, review and approval of scalable, secure and maintainable technical architectures
- Analyse customer requirements and develop technical solutions, proposals and tender inputs
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentorship across engineering, integration and project teams
- Oversee solution implementation, documentation, testing and quality assurance to meet project and customer standards
- Collaborate with customers, internal teams, vendors and stakeholders while managing progress, risks and technical issues Qualifications
- Degree‑qualified in Telecommunications, or Electronics Engineering, with extensive experience in complex communications projects
- 10+ years leading communications or infrastructure projects, including 7+ years in railway communications networks
- Strong technical capability on some of the communications technologies including MPLS (IP and/or TP) networks, RF architectures, Microwave Radio, LTE/5G, Tetra,P.25, and backbone transmission networks
- Proven experience developing and presenting network designs, documentation and testing procedures to industry standards
