About the Role We have an exciting permanent part‑time (.60 FTE) Senior Payroll & Payments Officer position available to join our fast‑paced Accounts & Business Services Department. Reporting to the Accounts & Business Services Manager, this part‑time role (0.6 FTE) is based in our Hope Valley office and offers working hours aligned with school schedules. The position is Monday to Friday, (in‑office) 5 hours per day (e.g. 9:00am–2:00pm), inclusive of a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break. This is a key role responsible primarily for the accurate and timely delivery of payroll whilst also assisting the Accounts & Business Services team by overseeing payment processing for various third parties, vendors, payroll and employee reimbursements, customer refunds etc and ensuring related financial controls are adhered to together with assisting your Supervisor and backing up your Accounts & Business Services team members when required. Key Responsibilities Payroll
- Manage and coordinate outsourced payroll services for timely processing of regular pay cycles (fortnightly and monthly), ad hoc payroll and superannuation guarantee contributions.
- Verify and ensure accurate calculations for payroll relative to entitlements, including relevant Award entitlements.
- Ensure compliance with taxation, superannuation, STP and payroll obligations.
- Key point of contact for outsourced payroll company and employee payroll enquiries whilst ensuring timely responses.
- Maintain payroll employee records.
- Collaborate with Finance and HR teams to ensure seamless payroll and payment operations.
- Support audits and reporting requirements as required. Payment Management
- Processing payment runs, including to third parties, inter‑company vendors, customer refunds, payroll and employee reimbursements etc.
- Ensure authorisation of relevant fund transfers.
- Maintain online banking systems, user accesses and authorised signatories.
- Manage corporate credit cards and the facility.
- Handle bank correspondence for bank transaction issues management. About You
- 5 years experience in a Senior payroll position with end to end payroll expertise.
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, industrial awards and compliance requirements.
- Experience using payroll systems and/or managing external outsourced payroll.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Experience managing or coordinating payments in a finance environment (desirable). What We Offer A permanent part‑time role that gives flexibility to work 5 days/week in school hours.
